We left behind everything familiar to take a leap of faith — trading convenience for connection, and modern noise for the kind of peace only hard work and soil can bring. Heart Beet Homestead grew from that leap: a small, farm-based family business rooted in heritage, intention, and a love for natural living.

What started as a simple dream to grow our own food has blossomed into something more — a way of life centered on mindful making, clean ingredients, and gratitude for what nature provides. Our focus remains on heirloom crops and heritage livestock, preserving the varieties and traditions that have nourished generations before us.

From Hive to Home

Drawing on years in esthetics and cosmetology, Jess began formulating skincare that aligned with her values — clean, effective, and rooted in herbal wisdom. The ingredients are either grown on our farm, sustainably foraged, or sourced from trusted regional partners or other local family farms. Our botanical skincare reflects a deep respect for the land, offering natural, ancestral care that truly works.

Our candle line followed naturally — a blend of passion, creativity, and a desire for safer home fragrance. What began as handmade gifts soon became a cornerstone of Heart Beet Homestead. Each candle is thoughtfully crafted with clean-burning ingredients, wood wicks, and uniquely layered scent profiles inspired by home and Pacific Northwest.

Jess’ years in the wine industry refined her appreciation for the art of scent and balance — learning how subtle notes and layers can evoke place, memory, and emotion. That foundation shaped her ability to craft candle blends that are nuanced and complex, yet comforting and familiar. It also sparked her love of design; years spent creating wine labels taught her the harmony of storytelling through visuals — a skill she now uses to create every label, photo, and layout in-house, and one she hopes to pass on to others through branding and creative education.

Today, every product we craft — from candles to salves — is made by hand in small batches, with love and purpose behind each pour, stir, and label. We believe in slowing down, creating with intention, and using what’s around us to make everyday things better.
